![]() Served with two sides (unless otherwise noted). We use only butcher-selected, grain-fed beef, and grill our steaks over an open flame with real mesquite wood for a flavor you won’t find anywhere else. ![]() Bravo! So to all you golfers out there, after a good round of golf, or more importantly after a not so good round of golf, do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a meal you will not soon forget. Here at the roadhouse, we take pride in our steaks. We were able to meet the chef after our meal to give him our accolades. The owners (wife and husband) run the front and back of the house. But it delivers in spades where it counts, Service, Food and Price. No it's not in the flashiest location in Myrtle. This is a restaurant that takes a great deal of care and pride in how you are treated, and the food that you are served. With a doubt, this is the keeper restaurant of this years trip, and one of the top meals we have ever had in Myrtle. We had the house salad, my wife had the Chicken Schnitzel, served with potato salad, fresh cooked cranberries and warm red cabbage, I had the liver served with a large serving of cooked vegetables, and Spetzle, the liver was cooked in a great cream sauce. On a Thursday night we arrived shortly after 8pm and were warmly welcomed. This year the reviews on Tripadvisor brought us to the "Cafe Old Vienna". The large chain restaurants although sometime popular, rarely leave a lasting impression (positive one I mean). Each year we always look for the hidden gem restaurant that offers out standing food, service at a reasonable price. So first of all let me say my wife and I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for 10+ years. Pretty good dinner but definately not outstanding, we must be more picky then most our platter was priced at $34.99, a bit expensive for what you actually get but not totally outrageous. schnitzel were quite good but sausages were just average, spetzel and red cabbage were also quite tasty.skip the home fries unless you really love potatoes.the are not anything special. another disappointment for my hubby.lol Our platter also included 2 side salads with a refreshing dressing, the platter itself included 2 pork schnitzels, 1 knuckle wurst cut in half, 2 bratwusts, home fries, spetzel and red cabbage. we decided to share the platter for two that included bread(not rye which I had expected) but a nice fresh white and whole wheat bagel. I ordered the White House wine from Austria. she was prompt and curious even though my hubby was crabby about the lack of German beer selection. Our server was a very nice lady who I can only assume was the owners wife due to her accent. ![]() This place definately has the dated German decor happening and it is a very tight fit for seating all around. I come from a Swiss German background and know my European cuisine as I Have had the opportunity to sample excellent German cooking in both Germany and Switzerland. So this place definately caters to an older crowd. We also had dinner here on Thursday evening and I first thing I notice was the age of the dinners eating there? We are both in our late 40's but ever one else appeared to be above the 65 yr old mark.
